KIRRAutility (Ku)
KIRRAutility (Ku) is the largest division of the Kirra Tara Project due to the large input required to establish the community and various building projects, infrastructure and other necessary requirements and essential services for the farm to work.
During the 2022-2023 fiscal year, Ku had the greatest budgetary spend of in excess of $187,000. This spend includes the land, the Mitsubishi 1-tonne tip truck, the Subaru Liberty Station Wagon, the Achilles 1.8 tonne mini-excavator, approximately $25,000 for general building materials and $6,000 for the sawmill. The annual budget requirements for Ku is expected to stay high for the next 2 - 3 years, as the community and associated outbuildings are established.
At a detailed level, Ku is responsible for the delivery of underlying services to the farm and community. It has call on the engineering, design and build services of KIRRAmaker (Km) as a priority and works closely with KIRRAnet (Kn) as the infrastructure provider for all Kn projects.
All Ku projects conducted for other divisions will move from design and build to management at the point of hand-over to the joint-venture division.
Some of the detailed works that Ku is in the process of delivering (or has already delivered) includes:
Water Management - Rainwater Harvesting, Water Recycling and Automated Use, Wastewater Management - including capture, disposal, use and distribution.
Heating and Cooling - Air and Water (Electric, Solar and Gas).
Piping - Fresh, Waste water, Rain water, Storm water and Gas.
Cabling for Communications and Electric.
Accommodation Structures - Planning, Land Use, Construction and General Building Maintenance.
Earth Works - Dams, Ponds, Roads, Paths, Vehicle Parking.
Telecom Structures and Towers - Wi-Fi towers and cabling, Satellite Structures.
Storage - Sheds, outbuildings, containers, storage facilities, allocation and Management.
Electric - Solar Panels, Batteries, Inverters, Fossil Fuel Generators, Wind Generation, Steam Generation, distribution, Community/Communal Lighting, Infrastructure and Management of these facilities for all Kirra divisions and community members.
Community Member Accommodation - Planning, Location and Land Use, Construction and General Building Maintenance of KIRRA division infrastructure. (Ku will resource an individuals personal home, however at hand-over the owner is responsible for ongoing maintenance and upkeep).
Agriculture Services - Animal housing, plant buildings like green-houses and raised beds, and irrigation plumbing and servicing.
Waste Management and Treatment - Animal, Human and Plants - Biogas production infrastructure, capture, distribution and management.
