KIRRAlab (Kl)
KIRRAlab (Kl) offers "pure sciences" such as Chemistry, Biology and Cosmetic Chemistry to the Kirra (and greater) Community.
The services provided by Kl extend past the front gate of the community farm. We offer public water, soil and air analysis services and in collaboration with other Kirra divisions, manufacture Tinctures, Salves, Oils, Lotions and a broad range of other Apothecary items.
As the main research methodology partner to the community, we provide scientific analysis, project planning, record keeping, and oversee a broad range of projects to develop a conclusive and documented scientific outcome.
Kl has a number of its own projects in progress at any given time and offers oversight to all projects where it can offer assistance.
Kl has a fully equipped laboratory space, with all the things that you would see in a normal laboratory, like test-tubes, beakers, burners etc. We also have some specialist equipment, like digital microscope, digital pH meters, ultra fine 1/1000th gram scales, vacuum equipment, fractional distillation apparatus and a Photo-spectrometer unit to allow the accurate measurement and analysis of molecular compounds. This unit uses international digital libraries of predefined and examined compounds to provide detailed molecular analysis.
Experiments (or processes) requiring a sterile environment or noxious removal facility, can be conducted in our dual-purpose HEPA 13 filtered flow and extraction hood appliance.
Some of the project areas that Kl participates includes:
Algae farming, production, cultivation and experimentation
Petrol and Fossil Fuel based projects such as, Pyrolization and other Alcohol production to create and test "E" fuels.
