Kirra Creek

Walking Kirra Creek

We are very fortunate to have discovered Kirra creek running through the property and the community space. Although it is only a seasonal creek, which means it only flows during rain events, from a permaculture and preservation perspective, we thought it necessary to slightly adjust the survey to incorporate this beautiful natural feature into our community space and make it the boundary between the community common space and town center and the southern hamlet vegetable garden. It acts as a natural boundary between plot #15 and the Community Centre and the boundary between plot #10 and plot #11.

This is clear in the updated community planning map.

Both the bridge over Winston Way to the East and Neo Way to the West span Kirra Creek, these are marked in purple on the map above.

To ensure the control of what are potentially flood waters during high volume rain events, the creek bed between Winston Way and Neo Way will be sealed with concreted river rocks, in a fashion similar to the image above, Although considerably wider and deeper.
