Becoming a friend of Kirra can be done in many ways, all of which have different benefits depending on what your desired outcomes are. Rest assured knowing that each will actively support our growing community, it's buildings, plans and dreams.

Garden of Memories

Each Kirra location has an orchard and food producing plants in its food forest. These are our "Garden Of Memories". A place that is not just for those who have left us, but also a place to celebrate the lives of those still with us. This allows us to show our appreciation for people and pets while they are still here to see our dedication to them.

Friends of Kirra can dedicate a plant to a person or pet living or deceased. In doing so, providing a productive food plant for the community and dedicating that tree to a loved one. With more than 100 name plaques already assigned to trees, this unique memorial allows us all to celebrate the living and life with those who have passed on. Don't just think people also think pets that you want to immortalize for many years to come.

Using our CNC and laser equipment, the community will produce a high quality plaque for your tree or plant, with the name and type of tree and your dedication to a person or pet. So you may include an image of the person or something else, if you wish to.

We will send you a video of the tree planting and plaque ceremony and each year on a predetermined date, we will email you a photo of your tree to allow you to reflect on the plaque and its meaning to you, in the knowledge that this person or pet is still giving to the world.

Cost: Cost of the tree from the nursery. So set a budget and we can name one tree or several. (It is usually $40 or more) You may also select a specific tree, if that tree produces edible food and grows in the climate that it will be planted in, we will source it, plant it and dedicate it!

Infrastructure Naming and Plaque

Friends of Kirra can nominate to name specific parts of each property infrastructure with a naming plaque, dedication or memorial. For example, you may decide that you want the "Tree House" accommodation to be known as the "Casey Darling Tree House" with a plaque that is similar to those displayed above. Again, in the knowledge that your dedication is allowing us to do good within the world all while helping and supporting our community.

If you wish to dedicate your memory to a person in this way, that dedication also comes with a one-week all inclusive stay in your dedicated home as a guest of the community during which time your will be a Community Citizen. During your stay we will have a naming ceremony in which you will be able to participate and cut the ribbon at the front door of the home. This ceremony will be sent to you as a video, for you to remember the occasion. 

Infrastructure & things that can be named: 

• 17 Quirky homes & 2 Powered and Watered Caravan Sites.

• BBQ Areas and Quiet places throughout the community

• Walking Tracks and Trails

• The Solar and Power generation plant and equipment.

• The Water filtration plant and equipment.

• The Garden beds

• The Hydroponic Garden

• The Sheds and other buildings

• The various spaces in the Maker Space (e.g. Chemistry Laboratory, Computing & Electronics Lab, Automotive Workshops, Metal Workshop, Wood Workshop, Painting and Fabrication space, Sawmill, Food Lab, Plastics Lab, Foundry and Ag-Science) So if the person you are dedicating the space to has a passion, then allow that passion to live on.

Cost: $1,000 for a lifetime dedication.

We have one very special naming right available It is the naming of our Town Centre. This is the central and focal point for the community and the vast majority of community activities. It is the meeting place for community meals and the building which is our maker space.

We will dedicate our Town Centre building to this person, be they living or passed away. We will present a plaque to the maker of the donation, and they are welcome to join us as a Friend Of Kirra, at a formal presentation ceremony. We will include a week of accommodation and meals for the person making the donation and their partner.

The Town Centre will become known as the name of the dedication, this will be reflected in all plans, this website and the other community engagement materials.

Cost: $5,000 for a lifetime dedication. 

Holidays & Accommodation

If you are a couple, wishing to make Kirra your holiday and rest and relaxation destination, then you will want to become a full immersion friend. This is a full membership to our community where you can enjoy a holiday each year at any Kirra location. The full immersion experience includes everything as if you were a full-time Community Citizen. That is, all your accommodation is provided in any short-term Eco-village home which is fully serviced once a week by our other community citizens. All your meals are included in our community kitchen dinning room and your associated on-costs are also included, such as power, water, telecommunications, internet, bedding and the like. So you get all the Community Citizen benefits without any of the effort. There are no black-out dates and bookings are simply subject to availability at your nominated location.

Naturally, there are a limited number of Friends of Kirra in this category to ensure you can enjoy your time at the community. Prices for all services are frozen for the duration of your package.

2 Adults (Couple) - 5 Years - 4 calendar weeks per year

The total package cost for 4 weeks each year for 2 adults as "Friends of Kirra" for 5-years is $10,000. This is equal to $500 per week for 2 adults with all included activities and meals, that's just $35.71 per person, per day, meals included. That is cheaper than living at home.

2 Adults (Couple) - 3 Years - 4 calendar weeks per year

The total package cost for 4 weeks each year for 2 adults as friends of Kirra for 3-years is $7,500. This is equal to $625 per week for 2 adults with all included activities and meals, that's just $44.64 per person, per day, meals included. Still cheaper than living at home.

2 Adults & 2 Children (Family) - 5 Years - 4 calendar weeks per year

The total package cost for 4 weeks each year for 2 adults and 2 children as friends of Kirra for 5-years is $13,500. This is equal to $675 per week for 2 adults & 2 Children with all included activities and meals, that's just $24.10 per person, per day, meals included. 

2 Adults & 2 Children (Family) - 3 Years - 4 calendar weeks per year

The total package cost for 4 weeks each year for 2 adults and 2 children as friends of Kirra for 3-years is $10,920. This is equal to $910 per week for 2 adults & 2 Children with all included activities and meals, that's just $32.50 per person, per day, meals included. 

Casual Rates $180.00 per night + $62 per Adult and $22 per child (aged 5 - 16) Children under 5 are no additional cost - Includes accommodation and meals in the community kitchen dinning room.
